Satoshi Horibata joined 2005
Quality Assurance Dept.

The Quality-Assurance Department manages and oversees the system to guarantee the quality of our products.
Our department also promotes ISO, and my main job is to acquire and to preserve the organic certification.
To put it in simple terms, "Organic Certification" refers to the institution, through which we are able to label "organic" on the food products.
In order for us to label "organic" on the food products, we must meet the standards set by the government.
There is a third party certification organization as well, who confirms that our certification is consistent with the law. By working together with this organization, we are able to make adjustments to acquire and preserve the "Organic Certification".
The institution of "Organic Certification" is also available outside of Japan. Since other countries have their own different standards, we handle the management of organic certification process at overseas as well.

 

Motivation

Acquiring of new certifications require, that all the differences of standards with the overseas certification organizations to be aligned.
When the repeated efforts contributed for the acquisition of new certifications, in other words, when the quality of our products have been proved even further, I find that to be quite rewarding.
Also, when I see the products I was involved in at retail stores, either domestic or overseas, and when I see customers purchasing our company products, I feel very satisfied.


The Goodness of Hikari Miso | Why I Chose Hikari Miso

With Hikari Miso, I felt the possibility of ongoing production activities.
Since I had majored in ecology while at university, I have always been interested in the companies whose production activities are thoughtful for the environment.
Miso is a product in which the power of nature is fully applied, and since our company focuses on the organic products, I saw how Hikari Miso has included ongoing production activities within its vision.
Hikari Miso was one of the first to have taken in the ISO system within the industry, it has strong interest in expanding business to overseas, and it has the progressive approaches as a company in general. I think these are very commendable.
It would bring me much pleasure, if many people could think about the ongoing production activities and even the global environment, as they pick up the products from Hikari Miso in hand.
