Hikari Miso Releases Instant Miso Products in New 25- and 35-Serving Value Packs

09.14.2009

— Value-priced and with an assortment of ingredients for everyday use —

On September 14, Hikari Miso released four new value-pack instant miso products in the "Kodawattemasu Nihon no Aji" series: a 25-serving pack and a 35-serving pack of instant Shinshu miso soup ("25-Shoku Shinshu Miso" and "35-Shoku Shinshu Miso"), as well as a 25-serving pack and a 35-serving pack of low-sodium instant miso soup (“25-Shoku Gen'en" and “35-Shoku Gen'en").

Hikari Miso has been taking advantage of the characteristics and great taste of its self-manufactured miso to build a line-up of instant miso soups that come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Hikari Miso was the first in the industry to launch instant miso soup in value packs, beginning with the currently hot-selling 10-pack type and continuing on with 20- and 30-serving value packs. The company has now further bolstered its line-up with the addition of the new 25- and 35-serving instant miso soup products. Increasing the number of servings allowed the company to minimize the cost of packaging materials and production and to offer the 25- and 35-serving packs at the easy-on-the-pocketbook prices of 520 yen and 700 yen (estimated retail prices, including tax). These products are perfect for customers who enjoy the taste and convenience of instant miso soup on a frequent basis.

Both pack sizes come in two types, Shinshu miso and low-sodium. The “Shinshu Miso" products are made using Shinshu miso, a light and refreshing miso with a hint of richer undertones, and katsuo dashi, for a taste that never grows old. On the other hand, the “Gen'en" products are made from a Shinshu miso blend, one miso loaded with the umami of soybeans and the other offering a mellow flavor. These soups have a deep, robust taste, yet are reduced-sodium product. Containing 20% less sodium than "Shinshu Miso," the “Gen'en" products are a healthful choice for people who want to watch their sodium intake while still enjoying a daily bowl of miso soup. Miso-lovers will appreciate the assortment of flavors in each pack and enjoy choosing among four different ingredients, including wakame, abura-age (deep-fried tofu), tofu, and leeks.
