to Lake Suwa Adoption Program |
Lake
Suwa Adoption Program is an institution that divides the shore of
Lake Suwa into 32 sections, and in order to protect the beautiful
environment around it, more than a dozen corporations and groups have
become foster parents to beautify each section.
It has been introduced since this April, as Suwa Architecture Office
as the organizer. Our company has always positively participated in
preservation of the environment, such as accession to Lake Suwa purification
liaison council, and introduction of environment management system,
as a corporation that is established in this Shinshu Suwa area, manufacturing
the very workings of nature, using the gift of the nature such as
soybeans and rice as main ingredients.
Recently, we have quickly expressed our desire to participate in this
Lake Suwa Adoption Program and have signed the contract.
Along with the cleaning project of Lake Suwa lakeshore that we have
been participating, starting this year, we will pursue beautification
of Lake Suwa, mainly around the section we have been given to care
for.
At the same time, we are considering to widen our support regarding
other environment preservation activities. |

The word gadopth means to become someone's
parent, and the adoption program (foster parent program) is for residence
of communities or corporations to adopt these public spaces and nurture
them as a parent nurtures a child, leading to cleaning and beautifying
activities.
Local municipalities will support this activity by providing or renting
out equipments and by advertising it.
This adoption program started in Texas, U.S.A., where trashing of
freeways had become a serious problem in 1985, and spread to all over
the nation quickly. In Japan, this was introduced in 1998, and today,
over 40 municipalities have adopted it. |
