Hikari Miso. Co., Ltd. has donated one thousand cups of instant miso soup to refugee evacuation shelters in Okaya, Nagano, for the relief of citizens evacuated from their homes in the wake of the heavy rains which began July 18th.

An intensification in the seasonal rain front caused heavy rains. In Nagano Prefecture, this led to landslides and flooding in rivers and around Lake Suwa. Okaya, adjacent to Shimosuwa, where both our head office and main factory are located, suffered extensive damage and evacuation warnings continue.

Out of a desire to assist the residents being evacuated from the neighboring area, even if only in some small way, our company has donated one thousand cups of instant miso soup to evacuation shelters through Okaya City.
